And besides its not much of a duel if I wipe out his crew with grape shots but that would be my normal tactic (to spare my own crew). I think about the ranked pirates as a sort of tax payers. At some time they are all gonna give me 10% of their treasure. Thats why I dont kill any of them until their combined loot is around 2.000.000 = 200.0...

Me fighting a Frigate Pirate Hunter using a Mail Runner which is faster and turns tighter than any ship. The fight is a bit longer with only 12 guns but at the same time more fun. My Mail Runner is fully upgraded: Copper plating - tighter turning. Cotton sails - more speed. Triple hammocks......
