This is the finished version of my PSP after I completely took apart the shell and put all the parts into the new clear blue one. Very cool... but not the most entertaining process. EDIT: To answer many of your questions... I bought this housing shell on eBay for about $25 (includes shipping) from a US seller. You need to buy your own size zero (0) screw driver.
