Late last summer my computer and I reached a new level of symbiosis when I sat down and played through Might & Magic 6-9. Its been years since I had that much fun and was as completely immersed in the gaming experience for weeks on end, and none of the big currentgen releases of the autumn and winter (such as Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Gears of War 2) was able to offer anything remotely resembling the same amount of pure, unadultered fun as New World Computings distinctively old-fashioned RPGs did (although Fable 2 admittedly ca...
Although I personally enjoyed Mandate of Heaven just a little bit more, theres no denying that For Blood & Honor probably is the most well-rounded and mechanically refined of the modern Might & Magic games, and its inclusion in the ever-expanding GOG catalogue is great news indeed. MM7 is based on the exact same engine as its predecessor, but all sorts of major and minor tweaks have been made to the class and skill system (which is the what this kind of spreadsheet-style RPG is truly all about). As a result the overall game ...
This right here is a bona-fide modern gaming clasic, Ill tell ya what! Seriously, this game IMO, is the high point in the entire Might and Magic series of PC RPGs. It is one of my favorite PC RPGs of all time, as well. There was so much love and polish lavished upon this game; you can tell from the awesome menu screen and loot artworks. This game was spit-shined to a finely polished sheen. There are few RPGs today that can hope to touch the breadth and variety that this game achieved. Its a game that I can still play to this...
Buy this game here: gog In many countries, its an offense punishable by death to have a retro channel focused on RPGs and not include a Might & Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven video, so here we go... The party used in this quick video is newly created but has the same character classes as the one which I finished the game with; a Paladin, a Druid, a Sorcerer and a Cleric. As expected, this magic-heavy party was very weak in the beginning of the game, and it took quite a few tedious hours in New Sorpigal and Castle Ironfist to ge...
Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer is a computer role-playing game developed for Microsoft Windows by New World Computing and released in 2000 by the 3DO Company. It is the eighth game in the Might and Magic series. The game received middling critical reviews, a first for the series, with several critics citing the games length and its increasingly dated game engine, which had been left fundamentally unaltered since Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven in 1998. The character development system, spells, sound eff...
