It is notable for its aesthetic style, featuring heavy occult and gothic influences. It is only the second Cave shoot em up to be played using a horizontally-oriented monitor (the first being Progear no Arashi). Deathsmiles is a classic 2D shoot em up with a gothic lolita theme. That means little girls in creepy environments and lots of bullets. Its a port of a 2007 arcade game from developer Cave and was just recently brought to North America exclusively as a Limited Edition that includes a faceplate for the Xbox 360 and a soundtrack CD. The music really fits the gothic nature of the game, and its actually fairly catchy. The boss battle music likes to occasionally creep its way into my head. But I definitely prefer the in-game musi...
