This video documents some of the changes (however minor) between Xbox and PC releases of Advent Rising. This isnt intended to be a quality comparison, but if youre looking to play the game, get the PC version off of Good Old Games or Steam. The Xbox release isnt compatible with the Xbox 360 and its much less polished than the PC. A few of the changes I show include: - Camera changes removed from the PC version (except for one) - A voice clip pitched downward for some unknown reason - Renderer not displaying textures or objec...
The first, last and only game developed by GlyphX, Advent Risings poor sales almost bankrupted publisher Majesco nearly single-handedly. Designed initially as an ambitious action sci-fi trilogy epic (in addition to a fourth game titled Advent Shadow for PSP) with contributions from author Orson Scott Card (Enders Game, et al), the Advent Rising tale instead ended with just this one game. The second set of warp pipes hidden in Chapter 4-B. Again, a direct reference to Super Mario Bros., in which World 4-2 had a secret vine you could climb to get to a set of three secret pipes that would warp you to World 6, 7, and 8. In this, they lead to Chapters 5, 6, and the Epilogue. These pipes are completely inaccessible in the PC version of the game, as the first switch seems to be broken. Even if you ghost your way inside the room with the pipe, you cant enter it. Im unsure whether or not this was intentional by the d...
